Juvéderm

What is Juvéderm? Here is a description:

Juvéderm is a name brand of dermal filler. It is made with a gel containing hyaluronic acid (HA) that is injected into the face. The purpose of these injections is to make wrinkles smoother, to add volume that has been loss and to enhance facial features especially on the lips and in the cheeks. This procedure is non-surgical, it is a cosmetic procedure, The effects of this treatment can last several months up even up to 2 years.

The question is should you use this procedure or not? We at On Call Medical Clinic offer Juvéderm as one of the many skincare treatments we offer. What we would like to clarify now is should you consider this skincare treatment.

If you are looking to reduce wrinkles, add volume to your flat cheeks to give you a more youthful appearance, if you want your lips to have more fullness, if you want to lift and contour your cheeks, and address hollowness under your eyes, Juvéderm may be an answer.

So, how does this work is the next question. This hyaluronic acid-based gel, which is a substance naturally found in the body is injected into the skin using a fine needle to add volume and give you a smoother more lifted appearance. The acid attracts water, which helps hydrate and plump the skin in those treated areas. This procedure binds HA chains together so that the gel will last longer.

It is different from the affects you receive when you have a Botox injection treatment. The purpose of a Botox treatment is to relax muscles to help reduce wrinkles for cosmetic purposes. Botox can also be used for medical purposes as well. Juvéderm has a plumping effect to the facial area.

Juvéderm is a series of injections that may take up to 30 minutes to be performed. There is really no recouperation timeframe, you should be able to return to normal activity immediately after the injections are administered.

There are however some minor side effects that can occur. They are redness, bruising, some swelling, and possibly some tenderness where the injections were performed.
